Before making the Asset Type you will first need to create:

1. A Custom Field.
2. A Field Scheme.

Once they have been created, follow these steps to create a new Asset Type within Canopy Manage:

1. Go to the Settings page by clicking the Cog icon on the left-hand side navigation bar.
2. Click Asset Types under the Assets heading.
3. Click the New Asset Type button in the top-right corner.
4. Fill out the Name and Unique Key, and chose the Field Scheme from the drop-down list.
5. Save the new Asset Type.
