Manual Assets are assets that aren't discovered by a probe or provider, instead, they are created by the end-user to represent any particular physical (or digital that Canopy Manage doesn't support) assets you wish to manage.
These include but aren’t limited to:
- Desktops, Laptops
- Tablets
- Headsets
- Phones
- Weather Stations
- Temperature Monitors
- Almost anything that is connected to the internet can be monitored
Asset Types, which are located on the Settings page, are where you configure the kinds of assets to store and the metadata you want the asset to hold.
Metadata is data that contains information about an Asset that can be used to identify it.
These can be almost anything about the device and an example is seen below.
